Daniel Kelly
Seventeen years designing, managing and transforming complex logistics networks — and a long-standing fascination with what happens when those networks are pushed to their limit.
Daniel Kelly is an Australian supply chain and logistics executive with more than 17 years of experience designing, managing and transforming complex logistics networks.
He currently serves as General Manager of one of Australia’s largest fourth-party logistics (4PL) operators, where he is responsible for the development and management of logistics solutions supporting organisations across Australia.
Throughout his career, Daniel has designed supply chain and transport solutions for some of Australia’s largest companies, as well as growing and mid-sized businesses operating across a diverse range of industries. His experience spans energy, retail, FMCG, eCommerce, healthcare and medical supply chains, industrial operations and other complex logistics environments.
Specialising in logistics planning, supply chain design and network modelling, Daniel has spent much of his career examining how products, infrastructure, technology, suppliers and transport networks must work together to create resilient and efficient supply chains.
His experience also extends deeply into digital supply chain transformation. Daniel has led the implementation of enterprise resource planning systems, developed custom digital logistics and supply chain platforms, introduced advanced modelling and analytical capabilities, and led broader digital transformation initiatives within the transport and logistics industry.
Having travelled extensively, Daniel has also had the opportunity to observe logistics networks and supply chains operating across different countries, markets and infrastructure environments. This exposure, combined with his professional experience, has shaped his fascination with how supply chains perform when confronted by distance, scarcity, disruption, extreme environments and operational pressure.
Daniel was educated at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, where he continues to live and work within the supply chain industry.
Critical Supply brings together his professional experience, interest in logistics history and fascination with complex systems to explore some of the most extraordinary supply chains ever created — and the lessons they offer for the supply chains of today.
